1. Creativity and Innovation:
- Daily Creates, have photo and writing prompts. Have students think outside the box in order to convey a meaning. Gets students in the habit of "winging" things / trying new things
- As we have learned from the readings on cyber infrastructure, students can express themselves and build their own little spots in this world through blogs and websites. We can allow the students to express themselves and their understanding of topics/ how they learn through the use of blogs. They can also see what their classmates are like. This breeds confidence in oneself and a creative mind.
- Also, with the daily creates and creating assignments, students can use their creativity to make new and exciting assignments making the class more "student centered" and using students interests/ funds of knowledge showing them that they too matter.
-Along with the assignments that the students create, they can write, or blog, a step-by-step process that they took in creating the assignment. Students can also express the meaning behind their assignment/ their ideas
- Students can work with different WEB 2.0 mediums to show understanding and learning.
-Students can use research to figure out what matters to them and what problems they are interested in.

2: Communication and Collaboration:
-Don't need technology to do this
-Need groups and collaboration
-Can use GoogleDocs for students to edit work together and write collaboratively
-Use class blogs or Twitter to communicate with each other and collaborate ideas. Invite other classes or community members too for more collaboration.
-Students can use a video source to communicate and collaborate with other students
-Having students create their own blogs and allowing blogs to be public is a great way to communicate with others around the world.
- When students are blogging they can tag certain blog posts drawing attention to specific audiences.
-Students can have different pen pals from around the world
- Skype is also a great tool to utilize to contact people from other areas of the country or world (for example: Skyping with authors like Dr. Stearns always does).
- Create a flat classroom type of atmosphere for the classroom. Collaborate with students around the world.

3. Research and Information Fluency:
-Reminds us of research papers - MLA
-Instead, have them research the same but create a digital answer (represent research digitally)
-Students with blogs can use Creative Commons in their research
-Focuses students on the issue of technology
-Have students know how to evaluate a good website from a bad one (can we trust it or not)
-Have students do multimodal research projects on different types of online research (include using screenshots or videos or sites like diigo).
-Students can research new websites, and teach the class how to use them, and why they are beneficial.

4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making:
-Have students ask classmates for help before coming to the teacher (collaboration)
-Know where to go for help - knowing which search engines will solve problems
-Having students create a blog will fit all three aspects
-Create a class Twitter account where they can tweet out any questions, problems, statements that they'd like to share
-Provide a reference text (possibly a book like Richardson & other peoples' experiences with blogging and/or technology) for students to use if they run into problems

5. Digital Citizenship:
-Having "Blog Monitors" - someone who facilitates the blog for the entire week to check how appropriate posts are, etc. (can finish the week by blogging about their experience) They see the value of digital citizenship
-Creative Commons and copyright issues, how to communicate appropriately, are things we need to teach students
-about audience, purpose, tone
-Students form a group (of 2-3) and come up with a creative assignment for the rest of the class to complete (and they're off the hook for that week). The groups rotate every week.
- Let students know that their will be severe consequences if their is any inappropriate behavior or cyber bullying taking place.
-When encountering cyber bullying or other inappropriate behavior, students can work together as a class to teach others and make them aware of the harmful effects of this behavior.

6. Technology Operations and Concepts:
-It's just "how do you use it"
-Have students create their own blogs so they can figure out for themselves how to operate in this domain.
-Make a class Twitter account
-Students can make a Digital Story to get familiar with new websites, pictures, media, and possibilities
- Have students make tutorials about new programs they use so that they can help others learn how to use them as well.
-Create a space online where students in the class can share their creations all in one place in order to learn from each other.


1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity:
-Use technologies and applications students are familiar with to start off (Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, etc.)
-Assign homework that requires the use of a computer
-Give students an assignment and have them work through it on their own (Throw them right into figuring it out on their own)
-Create prompts for students when they are getting started so they get an idea about what they can do.
- Throw the students into unknown territory, things they aren't used to or wouldn't try on their own. (TDC's)
-Ask students what they are interested in, and have them explore assignments to complete using these things.

2. Design and Develop Digital Age Learning Experiences and Assessments:
- Web 2.0 provides for an easy way to assess students, through commenting and giving immediate feedback on blogs. Initially, teachers might think assessing student blog and student technology work (ex: a daily create) might be difficult because everyone has a different creative mind and how can we judge what is right and what is wrong? However, as Jim Groom does, he creates assignments (and allows students to create assignments) and puts a number on how many, says they must attach tags, and also has students responding to their group members' work. Web 2.0 provides for this new way of communicating and assessing. Also, with blog monitors, students can assess each other (especially if they have created the assignment) so the class becomes even more student centered.

3. Model Digital Age Work and Learning:
-Start a Wikipage to use with the class. Use the projector to work through the Wiki to model how to use it (but allow students to work their way through it)
-Have your own own blog with the link available for students and colleagues to find
-Set up a website for your classes
- Do every assignment assigned to students so they know you're interested in technology as well and also have a guide.
-Work collaboritvely with other communitities, use NINGS, wiki spaces. Learn collaboratively

4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility:
-Keep your own blog/website and update it regularly to show the value in having one.
-Always cite photos, videos, and other web tools properly.
-Be careful what you use/do on the web, they follow your lead.
-Teach students about Creative Commons
-Expose students to the proper, respectful way to interact, collaborate and share online.

5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership:
-Engage in productive communication on the web to strenghten your knowledge.
-Join online communities dealing with education, technology, or your subject area.
-Show students that you as a teacher are also learning about new technology and that you are excited about it. When teachers are interested in activities/lesson it makes the students also excited.
-Collaborate with other teachers around the world to teach your class.
